Old-age pension

You are a member of the pension scheme provided by Bpf MITT and accrue your old-age pension under this scheme. You will receive old-age pension once you turn 68. Your old-age pension is supplementary to the AOW (General Old-Age Pension). The AOW is the state pension you receive when you reach the statutory age of retirement.

The amount of pension that you will receive from Bpf MITT depends mainly on the salary you have earned, the content of your pension scheme and how many years you have been a member of it. The old-age pension is paid out monthly from when you reach the age of 68 for as long as you live. The amount of your old-age pension is shown in your Uniform Pension Overview (UPO) and at www.mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl.

Your pension scheme is a defined benefit agreement. Each year, you accrue pension rights over part of the gross salary that you earn in that year. You do not accrue pension rights over your whole gross salary. Our pension fund has already taken account of the AOW pension that you receive from the government when you reach the AOW retirement age. The portion of your salary on which you do not accrue any pension is called the deductible. You accrue 1.60% old-age pension on your gross salary minus the deductible.

Example: you earn € 30,000 a year. The deductible is € 15,482.00. In that year you accrue 1.60% old-age pension on the pension base of € 14,518.00. That is € 232.29 in that year. The old-age pension you receive when you retire is the sum of all the years plus any annual indexation of your pension.
